Haryana Judicial Services

  • Phase 1 - Prelims examination is of objective type.
  • Phase 2 - Mains examination is of written type.
  • Phase 3 – Interview

Negative marking of 1.5 will be deducted in the prelims examination.

PHASE 1 – PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

You will face the preliminary exam first which is an objective test of 125 Questions and each question shall carry 4 Marks. The question will comprise of objective type questions from all the below mentioned acts in the mains syllabus

PHASE 2 – MAINS EXAMINATION

The exam is consists of five papers:

PAPER I - CIVIL LAW I (200 Marks)

You will be asked a question based on the following:

  • Code of Civil Procedure
  • Indian Contract Act
  • Indian Partnership Act
  • Sales of Goods Act
  • Specific Relief Act
  • Indian Evidence Act
  • Punjab Courts Act
  • Haryana Urban (Control of Rent & Eviction)Act,1973.
PAPER II - CIVIL LAW II (200 MARKS)

You will be asked a question based on the following:

  • Hindu Law
  • Mohammedan Law (Study the customary law of Haryana and Punjab also)
  • Law of Registration
  • Limitation Act
PAPER III – CRIMINAL LAW(200 Marks)

You will be asked a question based on the following:

  • Indian Penal Code
  • Criminal Procedure Code
  • Indian Evidence Act
SECTION IV: ENGLISH
  • Essay (100 Marks)
  • Precis Writing (25 Marks)
  • Comprehension (25 Marks)
  • Corrections (25 Marks)
  • Words & Phrases (25 Marks)
  • (To make sentences of the given words and phrases)

PAPER V: LANGUAGE HINDI (100 MARKS)

Standard of Hindi paper shall be that of matriculation examination of Haryana Board. It shall comprise of:

  • Translation of English passage into Hindi.(20 MARKS)
  • गद्यांशऔरपद्यांश- कोहिंदीमें व्याख्या(30 MARKS)
  • Hindi Essay, Idioms and Corrections(50 MARKS)
